Coronation Join Industry Stakeholders for 2026 CIIN Insurance Awareness Walk

Lagos, Nigeria – Coronation Insurance Plc and Coronation Life Assurance Limited joined other key stakeholders in the Nigerian insurance industry for the 2026 Insurance Awareness Walk organized by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) as part of activities marking the 2026 Insurance Week.

The awareness walk, held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, commenced from NEM Insurance House, Obanikoro, along Ikorodu Road, and ended at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The initiative brought together participants across the insurance value chain including insurers, reinsurers, brokers, loss adjusters, and other industry professionals.

The event was designed to promote greater awareness and understanding of insurance among Nigerians while reinforcing the industry’s collective commitment to financial protection, security, and inclusion.

Participants engaged in a pre-walk aerobic session and wellness activities. The walk also created an avenue for industry players to connect with members of the public and highlight the importance of insurance in everyday life.

Speaking during the event, Muibat Jimoh, Executive Director, Coronation Life Assurance Limited, stated that initiatives like the Insurance Awareness Walk are important in helping more Nigerians understand the real value of insurance.

“Insurance awareness remains a major part of deepening financial inclusion in Nigeria. Events like this allow us to engage directly with people, simplify conversations around insurance, and help individuals see insurance not as a luxury, but as an important part of everyday financial planning and protection,” she said.

Also speaking at the event, Charles Oghiabu, Head, Claims, Coronation Insurance Plc, emphasized the need for continued industry collaboration in building public trust and increasing awareness.

“The industry has a shared responsibility to make insurance more accessible and relatable to Nigerians. Beyond providing policies, we must continue to educate people on the role insurance plays in protecting lives, businesses, and investments. This walk is one of the many ways the industry is taking that message directly to the public,” he said.
