Bluebird Communications Limited has celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of creativity, growth, and dedication to bridging the gap between brands and their audiences. The milestone event, themed “30 and Vibing”, was held recently in Lagos.

Speaking at the celebration, Chairman of Bluebird Communications, Femi Olubanwo, reflected on the company’s journey from a modest creative agency to a fully integrated marketing communications group.

“Thirty years ago, Bluebird Communications began as a small creative agency with a bold dream to tell authentic African stories, connect brands with their audiences, and deliver innovative solutions with speed and precision. That vision still drives us today,” Olubanwo said.

He noted that the company’s operations now span digital strategy, media planning and buying, experiential marketing, brand activation, and public relations, with specialised subsidiaries leading in each sector. Over the years, Bluebird has worked with Nigeria’s most respected brands, helping challenger brands gain market relevance and small businesses grow into household names.

Executive Chairman, Kunle Ogunmefun, shared insights into the company’s humble beginnings, recounting how operations started in 1995 from a one-room office in Onikan, Lagos, during a turbulent military era.

“We started during a hostile economic period when many businesses were closing down and foreign companies were exiting Nigeria. Despite the challenges, we remained focused and tenacious on our dream. Thirty years later, we give glory to God for our growth and contributions to the advertising industry, our clients, and the Nigerian economy,” Ogunmefun said.

Bluebird’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, client satisfaction, and delivering world-class marketing solutions as it looks ahead to the next chapter of its journey.
