NEMA receives 139 Nigerian returnees from Niger Republic
As part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe and dignified repatriation of Nigerian citizens stranded abroad, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 139 Nigerian returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, aboard a Sky Mali flight, which landed at approximately 7:57 p.m.
This development was officially announced via NEMA’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday. According to the agency’s Kano Operations Office, the group consisted of:

32 female children
Upon arrival, the returnees underwent initial documentation and were subsequently transported to Badala Hotel for temporary accommodation. Profiling and additional assessments were carried out the following day, Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
NEMA confirmed that the reception exercise was efficiently coordinated and successfully executed, demonstrating the agency’s commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians and managing migration-related humanitarian crises.
