Dangote Cement Plc has notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited of an insider share transaction involving one of its senior executives.

According to a regulatory filing submitted to the NGX, the company’s Head of Treasury, Omode Emmanuel Oladimeji, purchased a total of 986 ordinary shares valued at N996,491.01.

The disclosure, signed by Dangote Cement’s Company Secretary, Edward Imoedemhe, was filed in line with Rule 111 of the NGX Rules Governing Director and Insider Dealings, which requires listed companies to disclose share transactions involving directors and other insiders.

The transaction was executed on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange in Lagos on May 4, 2026.

According to the filing, the purchase was completed in two tranches. Oladimeji acquired 263 shares at N1,008.15 per unit and a further 723 shares at N1,013.13 per unit.

The combined transaction amounted to 986 shares at a volume-weighted average price of approximately N1,010.64 per share.

Dangote Cement classified the disclosure as an initial notification of insider dealing, in accordance with capital market rules designed to promote transparency and ensure that investors are informed about transactions involving key company officials.

Insider share transactions are closely watched by investors because purchases by senior executives can sometimes be interpreted as an indication of management’s confidence in a company’s prospects.

However, such transactions can also arise from personal investment decisions and do not necessarily provide a definitive signal about future share-price performance.

Dangote Cement remains one of the largest listed companies on the Nigerian Exchange and a major cement producer across Sub-Saharan Africa.
