Big 5 Construct Nigeria Targets $54bn Construction Market as Industry Players Converge in Lagos

Nigeria’s construction industry is set for another major industry gathering as the sixth edition of Big 5 Construct Nigeria returns to Lagos from September 22 to 24, 2026, bringing together international suppliers, contractors, developers and built-environment professionals.

The event, described as Nigeria’s largest construction exhibition, will take place at the Landmark Centre and feature more than 165 exhibitors from over 20 countries. Organisers expect attendance to exceed 10,000 professionals, including contractors, architects, engineers, developers and other stakeholders across the construction value chain.

The exhibition comes as Nigeria’s construction sector continues to expand. Industry data from Market Research and ResearchAndMarkets puts the country’s construction output at approximately $54bn in 2025, with the sector projected to grow by 3.1 per cent in 2026 and maintain an average annual growth rate of 3.2 per cent between 2027 and 2030.

Focus on Construction Solutions and Technology

Big 5 Construct Nigeria will showcase products and technologies across several segments of the construction industry, including concrete and cement, construction tools, building interiors and finishes, personal protective equipment, digital construction technologies, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, heavy construction equipment, modular construction, metals and aluminium systems, windows, doors and façades, as well as urban design and landscaping.

The organisers said continued investment in infrastructure, housing, industrial development and manufacturing would remain important drivers of growth in the sector.

They also highlighted the Federal Government’s plan to establish Building Materials Manufacturing Hubs across the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda. According to the organisers, the initiative could strengthen local manufacturing and supply chains while helping to address the high cost of construction materials.

International Companies to Participate

The event is expected to provide a platform for Nigerian businesses and government authorities to engage with international manufacturers, technology providers and industry leaders.

Exhibitors will include companies such as Saint-Gobain, Sika, Asian Paints, Bosch, Uniflo – Al Shihhi Industry, SPG Nigeria and Abumet, with participation from countries including Germany, India, Spain, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.

Senior Vice President of dmg events, Josine Heijmans, said the exhibition would help connect companies and authorities driving Nigeria’s construction growth with international suppliers and expertise.

She said the sector’s continued investment was creating demand for new products, capabilities and technical expertise across the construction value chain.

Industry Experts to Lead Technical Sessions

Beyond the exhibition floor, the event will feature Big 5 Talks, with more than 25 Continuing Professional Development-certified sessions covering architecture, design, project management, cost and commercial management, sustainable building materials and façades.

The sessions will address practical challenges facing construction professionals, including project delivery, digital adoption, cost control, fit-out and finishing, risk management and sustainable building practices.

Among the speakers is Bldr Adetunji Adeniran, Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, who will discuss advanced project delivery strategies for high-risk environments.

Other speakers include Gabriel Oyekunle, Creative Director of CraftsPhile Studios, who will examine the adoption of Building Information Modelling in non-BIM environments, and Engr Thabang Chitja, Customer Success Manager at RIB Software, who will focus on digital project controls and the use of real-time data to improve cost visibility, risk management and project performance.

Abimbola Onagbade, Head of CDK Integrated Industries, will discuss how developers can balance cost, quality and project timelines, while Arc. Emmanuel Falude, Director of Education and Certification at the Green Building Council of Nigeria, will examine the business case for green buildings, including asset value, operational savings and sustainable investment.

With Nigeria’s construction output projected to continue growing, Big 5 Construct Nigeria is positioning its 2026 edition as a platform for investment, technology exchange and business development across one of the country’s most important infrastructure-driven sectors.
