Saglev Electromobility Company Limited has reaffirmed its leadership in green industrialisation, local manufacturing, and innovation within Nigeria’s automotive sector as it prepares to receive high-profile visits from the Federal Government and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

In a statement released ahead of the visits, the indigenous electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer announced that its state-of-the-art EV assembly and manufacturing facility located in Imota, Lagos, would host two high-level delegations this week. The visits include that of the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, on July 30, and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, on July 31.

Saglev described the upcoming engagements as a strong endorsement of its rapidly expanding role in Nigeria’s clean energy transition and Africa’s broader e-mobility revolution.

Chief Executive Officer of Saglev, Dr. Sam Faleye, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the visits, stating:
“These visits by national and continental leaders validate our commitment to Nigeria’s industrial future and Africa’s clean transportation revolution. We welcome the Minister, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina as they witness firsthand the progress being made.”

Positioning itself as Nigeria’s pioneer indigenous EV assembler and manufacturer, Saglev currently produces 16 different electric vehicle models. These include ride-hailing cars, executive sedans, mid-sized delivery vans, BRT buses, and utility trucks.

According to the company, its operations are deeply rooted in the promotion of local content, transfer of cutting-edge technology, job creation, and the reduction of import dependency—all within the growing green mobility ecosystem.

Saglev emphasised that the planned visits signify sustained high-level support for the country’s industrial transformation agenda. The collaboration with both the Federal Government and the AfDB, the company noted, underscores growing confidence in the ability of Nigerian firms to lead the continent’s clean energy and e-mobility agenda.

“Our facility showcases what is possible when innovation, policy support, and regional development financing come together to solve big challenges like climate change, unemployment, and logistics efficiency,” the statement read.

Saglev reiterated its unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria’s transition to clean energy mobility while building strong indigenous capabilities across the entire electric vehicle production value chain.
