Lagos hosts industry giants for Propak conference
Key stakeholders in the packaging, plastics, printing, and processing industries are set to gather in Lagos from September 9 to 11 for the 12th edition of Propak West Africa, one of the region’s largest industrial trade exhibitions.
The annual event, scheduled to take place at the Landmark Centre, is expected to attract over 5,500 industry professionals and more than 250 exhibiting companies from within Nigeria and internationally. According to the organisers, this year’s edition is projected to be the largest in the history of the exhibition.
In a statement, the organisers noted that the exhibition would showcase a wide array of machinery and technological solutions, ranging from injection and blow moulding machines to sachet packing systems and weighing equipment. More than 15 machines will run live demonstrations on the exhibition floor throughout the event.
Major international manufacturers and service providers such as Krones AG, BBM Maschinenbau, Sacmi, Piovan Group, Reifenhauser Blown Film, Windmoeller & Holscher, and Milacron India are among the confirmed exhibitors. They will be joined by a strong lineup of local companies, including Veepee Group, JMG Ltd, Adeco Project Engineering, Ankan Group, and SBA Nigeria.
Beyond the exhibition stands, Propak will host a series of conferences and technical sessions designed to engage and inform professionals at all levels.
The opening day summit will focus on “Shaping the Future of Packaging in West Africa,” setting the tone for discussions on innovation and industry transformation. The final day of the event will explore “Access to Finance for Industrial Growth,” addressing a critical challenge faced by manufacturers and investors alike.
Confirmed speakers at these sessions include representatives from leading companies such as Unilever Nigeria Plc, Guinness Nigeria, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, and UAC Foods.
According to the organisers:
“The headline summit will look into topics around Shaping the Future of Packaging in West Africa on the first day, with the third day focusing on Access to Finance for Industrial Growth. Speakers on these stages come from the likes of Guinness Nigeria, Unilever Nigeria Plc, UAC Foods, and FrieslandCampina, to name just a few.”
KPMG Nigeria will also return as Strategic Partners to host a dedicated sustainability focus day on September 10, themed “Lifecycle Data Management for Sustainable Packaging Systems.” This session aims to engage the manufacturing community on the role of data as an enabler of the circular economy.
With the exhibition now just over two months away, organisers noted that additional announcements would be made in the coming weeks. They encouraged all interested participants to register for the exhibition to stay updated on new conference sessions, exhibitor lists, and special features planned for the event.
