UBA Foundation supports vulnerable citizens in Lagos outreach
UBA Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of United Bank for Africa Plc, has reached out to vulnerable groups in Lagos as part of its ongoing charity outreach programme.
In a statement on Monday, the Foundation said it visited So-Said Charity Homes Community and SOS Children’s Village, where food items and essential relief materials were distributed to the elderly, children, and other disadvantaged members of society.
Speaking during the visit, UBA’s Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, reaffirmed the Foundation’s dedication to uplifting lives across Africa.
“At UBA Foundation, we believe in touching lives and giving back to the communities where we operate. The elderly and children are among the most vulnerable, and it is our responsibility to support them in any way we can. This outreach is a testament to our commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development,” she said.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, with smiles and words of appreciation marking the event. CEO of So-Said Charity Homes Community, Mrs. Felicia Martins, described the donations as timely and impactful, especially given current economic challenges. Programme Director of SOS Children’s Village, Ayodeji Adelopo, also lauded the Foundation’s support for orphaned and vulnerable children, calling for more collaboration in the future.
UBA Foundation’s Managing Director/CEO, Bola Atta, reiterated the bank’s resolve to drive positive social change through education, empowerment, and environmental initiatives.
The Foundation has a long record of philanthropic activities across Africa, including educational scholarships, healthcare interventions, and poverty alleviation projects. Its latest outreach in Lagos underscores its sustained commitment to giving back to communities and improving the lives of the less privileged.
