Summit to discuss aviation financing

Lagos, Nigeria – The 29th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) is set to hold this Thursday in Lagos, with a strong lineup of top industry leaders, policymakers, and financial experts converging to address the theme:
“Aviation Financing in Nigeria: The Risks, Opportunities, and Prospects.”

In a statement released by the Chairman of the LAAC Conference Committee, Wole Shadare, the League confirmed that renowned economist and Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, will deliver one of the keynote addresses.

Rewane is expected to provide a deep dive into Nigeria’s macroeconomic landscape, highlight investment trends, and outline sustainable financing strategies tailored to the aviation sector’s future.

Shadare said.

Also confirmed to speak is Mr. Gbenga Alade, Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). Aviation economist Dr. Gabriel Olowo will deliver another keynote focusing on air transport economics and evolving industry dynamics.

Key Government and Regulatory Participation

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, will grace the event as the Special Guest of Honour, providing critical updates on the government’s policy direction, sectoral reforms, and aviation financing frameworks.

In addition, the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, will deliver a goodwill message on behalf of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), reaffirming the regulatory body’s commitment to fostering a stable investment climate and maintaining effective oversight across the aviation value chain.
