Dangote highlights local production, value addition drive
Stakeholders and members of the business community at the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair were offered fresh insight into the long-term strategic direction of the Dangote Group, as its representative, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, outlined the company’s ambitious Vision 2030 roadmap.
Speaking during the company’s Special Day at the fair, which attracted significant interest from industry players, entrepreneurs, and investors, Wali Abdurrahman detailed plans aimed at deepening Nigeria’s industrial base and promoting economic self-reliance through expanded local production and value addition.
A statement from the firm on Monday stated that she explained that Vision 2030 is structured to position the conglomerate as a leading global manufacturing powerhouse, while also advancing national economic development through employment generation, technology adoption, and the expansion of supply chains.
According to her, the group’s investments in key sectors — including cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, energy, sugar and salt — are strategically designed to cut Nigeria’s reliance on imports and reinforce domestic manufacturing capacity.
She noted that the roadmap aligns with ongoing economic reform initiatives focused on stimulating industrial growth and improving competitiveness across sectors.
Wali Abdurrahman added that the company’s long-term vision places considerable emphasis on building partnerships with small and medium-scale enterprises, distributors, and local suppliers. She stressed that sustainable industrial development can only be achieved through inclusive participation along the value chain.
